BIOGRAPHY

Growing up, my family and I moved from place to place quite often. Along the way, I encountered many different types of people and situations that have become the essence of my character driven dramas and romantic comedies. Settling in my home state of Indiana, I earned a BFA in Visual Communications from Indiana University/John Herron School of Art in 1990. I spent twelve years working as a freelance artist, as well as serving as the director of childcare services for His Hands Extended Ministries and Outreach Foundation full time. I now focus my energy toward screenwriting and filmmaking. As a guest speaker at IUPUI (Indiana University/Purdue University – Indianapolis) and the Indiana Writer’s Center, I have lectured to classes on many topics related to screenwriting.

In 2006, I sold a co-written feature script ... (if you are an industry pro, contact me, I'll give you the details). On a more heartfelt note, in July 2007, I was commissioned by Infinity Films to pen the short script, Greener, which deals with the essence of fantasy verses the realm of reality. The project wrapped on August 11th, 2009 and is currently in post-production. I am so very thankful that I could be a part of the entire production process and work with a group of very talented and professional people.

I am currently working with the citizens of Hooven, Ohio by writing and directing a documentary that overviews their eight-year battle with Chevron. (update: stalled) Additionally, I have optioned two feature screenplays: HEIR, a romantic comedy to Popcorn Productions/Marie-Claude Jacques, and I SHOULD HAVE MARRIED JOE, a romantic dramedy to Accent Pictures/John Wulff. My feature drama, ALVINA STREET placed in the quarterfinals of the 5th Annual Fade In: Screenwriting Awards and was considered for the final round in the 2001 Sundance Feature Film Program. BEHIND THE MOUNTAIN, my faith-based feature screenplay, based on life in the small village of Deye Mon, Haiti earned semi-final status in the 2008 Moondance International Film Festival.

Noted as a “true professional who will not compromise quality”, I have also worn the hats of associate producer, UMP, location scout, and script consultant on various low budget films in the Mid-West.

I am a writer because I love the written word.
